From survey to showing up
You tell us where you’re going and how much time you can give. We match you with a vetted local partner at your destination. Here’s the whole process, start to finish.
Most matches are for a single morning or afternoon. No experience needed, no long commitment, and nothing that swallows your vacation. Kids and grandparents are welcome at most of our partner projects.

Four steps, one good morning
The whole thing is built to fit around a vacation, not replace one.
Take the 2-minute survey
Tell us your destination, your travel dates, who’s coming, and what kind of helping sounds good to you: animals, kids, coastlines, food banks, or “surprise us.”
We match vetted local partners
We check your answers against organizations we already work with at your destination and send you a short list of options that fit your group and your dates.
Pick a slot that fits your itinerary
Choose the day and time that works around your plans. You’ll get plain directions, what to wear, and who to ask for when you arrive.
Show up, help, go back to vacation
You spend a few hours doing something useful with local people, then head back to the pool. Most families say it ends up being the story they tell first when they get home.

A morning, not a mission trip
Every opportunity we match is scoped for travelers: a few hours, clear tasks, and a local coordinator who runs the show. You help with real work, and the partner keeps the long-term project going after you fly home.

Questions families and retirees ask us
Short, honest answers. If yours isn’t here, call us at (201)555-1212.
Can kids come along?
Yes, at most projects. The survey asks the ages in your group, and we only match you with partners that welcome those ages. Beach cleanups, garden days, and book sorting are common family picks. Each match tells you the minimum age up front.
Do retirees need any experience?
No. Every partner gives a short on-site orientation before the work starts. If you tell us in the survey what you’re comfortable with, standing, lifting, sitting work, we match accordingly. Many partners specifically ask for patient adults who can chat, read aloud, or sort.
What if our plans change?
It happens on vacation. Just let us or the partner know as soon as you can and we’ll move your slot or cancel it. There’s no penalty. If a new date works, we’ll rebook you; if not, the partner simply fills the slot another way.
How are partners vetted?
Every opportunity is vetted with local partners. Before an organization appears in a match, we confirm it is locally run, that traveler help is genuinely useful to its work, that tasks are safe and clearly defined, and that a named coordinator will be on site with you.
We also check back after visits. If travelers report a poor experience, we follow up with the partner before matching anyone else there.
Is there any cost or obligation?
Taking the survey commits you to nothing. You see your matches, and you decide whether to book one. If a specific partner has its own requirements, we spell them out clearly before you confirm, so there are no surprises when you arrive.
