What "verified" means.

The olive stamp isn't decoration. It means we checked three things before a project went on this ledger.

Legal standing

We confirm the host is a registered non-profit or community organisation in its own country, with a real point of contact, not a booking agent reselling someone else's project.

Financial transparency

Hosts tell us where volunteer fees go, housing, food, materials, local staff wages. That breakdown is what you see on the project page, not a marked-up "program fee."

On-ground check-ins

Verified status is reviewed on a schedule, not granted once and forgotten. If a project stops responding or conditions change, the stamp comes off the ledger.

Practical questions we get from most travelers, answered plainly.

Do I need a visa?

Depends entirely on your passport and the country you're headed to. Each project page links to the host country's official visa information, we don't process visas ourselves, and we won't tell you it's simpler than it is.

Is travel insurance required?

Yes, for every project on this ledger. Hosts can decline to accommodate you on-site without proof of cover. Bring your own policy, we don't sell insurance and don't take a cut from anyone who does.

Is there a minimum stay?

It varies by project and is listed in the Duration column of the ledger above. Some clinics and schools ask for a minimum so they're not retraining a new volunteer every week, check the specific project page for the exact figure.

How do you handle safety concerns?

Every host provides an emergency contact and local safety briefing as part of verification. If a project can't answer basic questions about housing, transport, or medical access nearby, it doesn't get listed.

Can I bring family or travel as a group?

Some projects are set up for it and are marked "Family friendly" in the Skill Level column. Others aren't equipped for minors or large groups. Check the badge before you write in, or filter the ledger by family-friendly above.
